Prof. Ahmed H. Fahal, Academic Secretary, University of Khartoumn

Prof. Ahmed Fahal is a Professor of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum. He graduated from University of Khartoum and trained in General and Vascular Surgery in Khartoum and London. He is a Consultant Surgeon at Soba University Hospital, Sudan. Currently he is the Director of the Self Evaluation and Quality Enhancement, University of Khartoum. He is Director of the Mycetoma Research Centre, Soba University Hospital. He is a member of many learned societies locally, regionally and internationally. He organized many academic activities in the Sudan and in the region. He was coordinator, Human Development program, WHO, Sudan. He has especial interest in medical education, medical informatics and medical ethics. He is a WHO Consultant in Medical Education. Prof. Fahal is actively involved in the teaching and had supervised many of undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Khartoum and abroad. He is an external examiner in surgery for many medical schools. He published more than 70 scientific articles, author of a book on mycetoma and many chapters, booklets and guidelines. He was awarded the State of the Sudan Golden Medal for Excellence and the Promotion of Scientific Innovation in Medicine in 2000.
